A word about The Murex d'Or 2012 by John Saad
It’s all part of the ritual.
First, we spend months predicting the nominations, then we complain about the nominations, then we predict the winners to the point where there are no surprises during the ceremony itself, so we then complain about the show...
Yes, folks, "The Murex d'Or 2012" came to a close, with trophies going to some of the biggest names in the Artistic field.
Were there great moments? Sure!
On the positive side: The Production of the evening which was perfect (Thumbs up MTV), the general presentation (Look & Feel) which was nice and classy, but in my humble opinion the TRUE highlights were both Khaled Mouzannar & Assi El Hellani's speeches!!
On the negative side: The cliche speeches of the winners, and most striking, some of the introductory VERY LONG speeches!
The average introductory tribute speech time at the Oscars: 20 seconds. The introductory tribute speech presenting Egyptian actress “Pussy” at The Murex D’Or 2012: 3 minutes!!!
FYI the whole Oscar Ceremony duration has generally been somewhere between 3 to 3 and a half hours long, why is our "Murex d'Or 2012" so long? 4 and a half hours and counting...
