Lagix

The two group members in Lagix met for the first time in 1990, at a refuge centre in the so-called 'triangle-area' in Jutland, Denmark, where the 5 year old Maz1 had arrived in the same year. The 7 year old KaKush had lived in Denmark for about a year at this time. A brotherly relationship quickly formed between the two. The two guys opened their eyes to the opportunities of music at the end of the 90's. As 13 and 15 year olds they took advantage of every chance they got to step up to the microphone at local parties. After a while they went out and performed properly at parties, though at first with just cover songs. During the process of establishing themselves as an act, they also took part in a series of competitions, where every time they ended in the finals. Finals they usually won. In 2003-04 the two guys took part in two musicals that took place at The Youth House in Fredericia and at Fredericia Theatre. These were musicals that became large public successes and where both KaKush and Maz1 had leading roles. After this time Lagix started to head upwards. They started to make their own music, and today they take part in every detail that concerns their music carrier such as creating their website, cover, writing lyrics, promotion and producing. Throughout the years the guys have got to know each other really well, and their brotherhood has ensured that they always know what each other are up to, including on the stage. Today Lagix makes Hiphop/ R'n'B, and according to them selves it is music with a very emotional and personal touch. Their songs are about their everyday life - with subjects such as love and identity - and lyrics that are about building bridges, instead of burning them. Throughout this whole process, it is important to the group that they make music that they like. And that the music is self-made... The guys have evolved a lot since they started singing playback at local parties. Now they listen to more all round music and are inspired, not only by Hip-Hop/R´n´B community, but also by rock musicians, pop-singers and Arabian artists. Their debut album "Versatile" is produced in collaboration with the Danish producer team Heartbeatz, and you'll find guest appearances from some of Denmark's greatest rappers and artists. "Now we are ready. It's a good thing we didn't release anything three years ago, because now we can be part of the game".
